Houghton, NY – The Alfred State Men's Soccer team had four different Pioneers net goals in the non-conference match-up against Houghton, 4-0. The Pioneers move to 3-0-1 on the season.
Alfred State controlled the offense, totaling 14 shots and 5 on goal. In the 11th minute,
Ryan Masi notched his first goal of the season off a throw-in from
Liam Fitzpatrick.
Henry Leahy sliced through Houghton's defense to find
Jack Emo open in the box to score the next goal for the Pioneers, making it 2-0 in the 39th minute to end the first half.
In the second half,
Jack Farner scored his first collegiate goal from Leahy's blocked shot in the 60th minute. In the 74th minute,
Brogan Cotter drew a penalty in Houghton's box, earning his first goal of the season from the penalty kick, finishing the scoring for the win.

Alexander Preston recorded his first shutout of the season, making two saves for the Pioneers.
