Erie, PA-  The Alfred State baseball team suffers a tough regular season finale loss against Baldwin Wallace, 10-4. The Pioneers ends the regular season with a 24-15 record.

Tyler Korsky led the way as he went 3-4 with two doubles. Jordan Hughes had a good day as he went 2-4 and tallied two RBIs. On the mound, Zachary Nelson suffered the loss. While Mason Williams and Dylan Novak came in relief and striking out two.

The Yellow Jackets got on the board first, scoring three runs in the first. The Pios answered with two runs in the second. Korsky led off with a double to center field. Hughes followed with an RBI single to make it a 3-1 game. Two batters later, Devin Mersmann notched an RBI single to right field to cut the deficit down to one, 3-2.

Baldwin Wallace responded with one run in their at bat in the second, then scored three runs in the third for the 7-2 lead. After a few scoreless innings, the Pioneers scored two runs in the sixth. With one out, Frank Grad got walked then advanced to second on a wild pitch. After a Korsky single put runners on the corners, Hughes notched an RBI single that made it a 7-3 game. Zack Young was able to load the bases with a single, then an RBI sacrifice fly from Caleb Walker cut the lead to 7-4.

The Yellow Jackets was able to put in three more runs while holding ASC scoreless to take the win. The Pioneers are looking forward to this week as they are the #2 seed in the AMCC Championship tournament that starts on Thursday for them.
