Pioneers Season Comes To A Close In AMCC Tournament

Cresson, PA- The Alfred State women's lacrosse team sees their first season in program history come to a close in the AMCC Tournament. The Pioneers finished the season with a 4-9 overall record and a 2-4 in conference play.

Karlee Hargather led the way on offense as she tallied two goals and two ground balls. Abigail Lussier netted a goal as well along with grabbing five ground balls. Cadence Pierce suffered the loss in goal after tallying nine saves.

The Mounties were able to get on the board in the first quarter, before Hargather answered with a goal a few minutes later to tie the game at 1-1. Mount went on to score two more goals to in the quarter with a 3-1 lead.

In the second quarter, Hargather netted her second goal of the game in the first 30 seconds of the quarter to cut the deficit down to 3-2. The Mountie followed with back-to-back goals to take a 5-2 lead into the break.

Mt. Aloysius opened the second half, with four goals to increase their lead to 9-2. Lussier was able to find the back of the net to and slow down the Mounties runs, but Mount continued their run scoring three more goals to end the quarter with a 12-3 lead. The game would get called there due to weather conditions.
