Oswego, NY- The Alfred State baseball team drops mid-week match 15-4 against Oswego. The Pioneers move to 14-10 on the season.
The Pioneers were led by Frank Grad as he went 2-5 with two RBIs. Devin Mersmann went 2-2 on the day. On the mound, Daniel Lewis took the loss.
The Lakers got on the board first as they put up two runs in each the first and second innings for the 4-0 lead. The Pioneers answered in the third with a run off of a Grad RBI single to center field to make it a 4-1 deficit.
Oswego went on to score 10 runs in the fourth to take a 14-1 lead. In the fifth, the Pios scored a run off an RBI fielder's choice from Grad.
The Pioneers tried to make some late game magic in the ninth as they put in two runs, but ultimately fell short as Oswego took the 15-4 win. The Pioneers will be back in action this weekend as they head to PS Altoona for a conference doubleheader on Saturday.
