Cresson,PA- The Alfred State women's lacrosse team suffered a 9-8 lose in their conference opener against Mt. Aloysius. The Pioneers fall to 2-5 on the season and 0-1 in conference play.
Karlee Hargather,
Abigail Lussier, and
Madison Le tallied two goals each in the effort.

Hargather opened the scoring with a goal three minutes into the game. The Mounties responed a few minutes later with a goal. After that faceoff, Hargather found
Kari Annunziato for a goal to regain the lead, 2-1. The Pios added two goals to their lead, as Hargather and Le notched back-to-back goals for the 4-1 lead.
The Mounties netted four goals in the second to take a 5-4 lead into the break. After another Mounties goal opened the third quarter,
Alaina Kaczmarczyk and Lussier netted back-to-back goals to tie the game at 6-6. Mount was able to score one more goal to end the third with a 7-6 lead.
Lussier opened the fourth with a goal to tie the game at 7-7. Then, following a MAC goal, Le netted her second goal of the day to tie the game at 8-8 with three minutes left. Aloysuis was able to score one final goal to win the game 9-8. The Pioneers will be back on the road next weekend April 5th for a game against La Roche at 1 pm.
