Williamsport, PA- The Alfred State men's wrestling will see three wrestlers move on to day two of the NCAA Regionals. The Pioneers sit in 14th place with a score of 26 points.
Elijah Moshenek in the 133 weight class was the first Pioneer to move onto day two. He open the day with a 4-1 sudden victory over Derek Bernardino (St. John Fisher). After suffering a loss in the Quarterfinals, he would notch a 1:40 first period fall over Ethan Washburn (Wilkes) to move onto day two.
The next Pio was Benjamin Rivera in the 165 weight class. He opened the day with a 7-4 decision win over Vandavian Way (Brockport). After suffering a loss in the quarter finals, Rivera tallied a second period fall over Jack Kent (Hunter) in 5:26 to move on to day two.
The final Pio is Brent Perry in the 184 weight class. After notching a 12-10 decision win over Kiam Coleman (Brockport), he would suffer a loss in the quarterfinals. Perry rebounded with a 2:09 fall over Tim Pawlicki (Centenary) to advance to day two.
These three Pioneers earned a spot in the top-8 in Region II and will be battling tomorrow morning for a spot in the top-3 and a trip to the NCAA National Tournament.
