Erie, NY- The Alfred State men's wrestling team finished third at the AMCC Championship Tournament, while tallying seven place finishers.
Five of the seven place finishers came in second place in their respective brackets. Starting with Elijah Moshenek in the 133 bracket, he opened the day with an 8-1 decision over Cj Trimber (Penn College) to earn a spot in the first place match. He would suffer a 7-3 decision loss in that match to take second.
Next, in the 157 bracket, Owen Cummings tallied back-to-back falls to earn a spot in the first-place match. His first fall was over Hunter Savitz (PS Behrend) in 59 seconds, then he followed with a 2:20 fall over Cavin Napoletano (Penn College). Then in the first-place match, he suffered a 14-9 decision loss.
Then in the 165 bracket, Benjamin Rivera notched two falls for a spot in the first-place match. He notched his first fall in 2:31, then got his second fall over Konor Tubin (PS Behrend) in 4:54. He would suffer a loss in the first-place match to take second.
In the 184 bracket, Brent Perry notched a 16-0 tech fall win over Aiden Osborne (Penn College), then fell in the championship match by way of an 8-1 decision.
The final second place finisher was Aaron Johnson in the 197 bracket. After getting a 1:46 fall over Cole Wilson (PS Behrend), Johnson would suffer a loss in the first place match to take second.
The final two place finishers were George Racz (174) in fourth and Ryan Farley (125) in fourth.
