Erie, PA- The Alfred State volleyball came up short on the road against the Penn State Behrend Lions, 3-0 (25-23, 25-17, 25-15). The Pioneers now sit with a 13-11 overall record, 1-4 in conference foes.

Despite the loss, the Pios were led by
Gloria Stem as she delivered 12 kills.
Alayna Tomlinson followed behind her with seven kills, six digs and two aces.

The first set saw the Pioneers grab a five-point lead early while maintaining that lead as Tomlinson and Stem contributed solid kills to the Lions. With the score in favor of ASC late in the set 23-20, the Lions made a comeback, winning the set 25-23. Starting the second set strong, the Pios notched five points right out the gate as Stem delivered two kills, Tomlinson adding one herself. The Lions quickly fired back, gaining and controlling a solid lead throughout the remainder of the set, taking another win 25-17. The final set consisted of both teams chipping away to get points on the scoreboard. The Lions controlled the late half of the set and held the Pioneers to a 25-15 win.
