Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Pioneers Find Success On Senior Day

Alfred, NY- The Alfred State men's soccer team notched a 7-0 shutout win on senior day against Penn State Altoona. The Pioneers move to 6-2-6 on the season and 3-0-3 in conference play. 

Brogan Cotter got the game started as he netted a goal 40 seconds into the game. Then in the 20th minute, Cotter found Ryan Masi open in the box to make it a 2-0 game. A few minutes later, Henry Leahy got fouled in the box which created a penalty goal opportunity. Liam Fitzpatrick capitalized on the penalty kick to make it a 3-0 game. As the first half was winding down, Will Leahy extended the Pios lead with a goal in the 41st minute to make it a 4-0 game  at halftime.

In the second half, Masi found the back of the net in the 51st minute off a long throw in from Fitzpatrick and heel tap by H. Leahy to make it a 5-0 game. H. Leahy scored as well in the 52nd minute. Then in the 75th minute, Jack Farner tallied his second goal of the season to push the Pioneers lead to 7-0. 

The Pioneers defense held the Lions scoreless with Marcus Tittle picking up his first career win in his first career start. Tittle tallied a save in the effort as well.

Alfred State will be home again on Wednesday, October 22 for a game against Elmira with kickoff set for 7 pm.
