Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Ingraham Clinches Buzzer-Beater Goal To Secure Another Pioneer Win

Alfred, NY- The Alfred State women's soccer team clinched a thrilling win over Penn State Altoona in a buzzer-beater goal in the final seconds of tonight's senior day match-up, 2-1. This victory sets their overall record at 10-4 and allows them to stay undefeated in conference play, 6-0. The Pioneers sit in second place in the AMCC, neck and neck with Penn State-Behrend.

The Lions attacked first, recording their first and only goal of the game at the 6:39 minute mark. After that initial goal by Altoona, both teams offense and defense worked tirelessly to maintain control. It wasn't until the 70:30 minute mark that Lili Weber found the back of the net for the Pios, assisted by Isabella Hoffmann. With a now tie game and 20 minutes left on the clock, both the Pioneers and Lions were eager to finish it off.

With the Pios offense establishing dominance, in a last second desperate attempt, junior defender, Ella Ingraham fired a shot that bounced off the Lions goalie and was recorded as a goal at the 90 minute mark. In a crowd buzzing and electrifying moment, the Pioneers secured the win 2-1.

As Alfred State looks to continue their winning streak, they head on the road to Greensburg, PA to take on the Bobcats on Saturday, kick off to be determined.
