Alfred, NY- The Alfred State Men's Soccer team takes a tough first season loss against Ithaca, 2-1. The Pioneers now sit at 3-1 on the season.

The Pios were coming off a 3 game winning streak, ready to add on a fourth in today's match up against the Ithaca Bombers. The Bombers came out aggressive as they scored off a penalty kick in the 7
th minute. This of course would not stop the Pios as they were quick to bounce back,
Jean Baptiste Kagde finding the back of the net with the help of
Jack Leahy, in the 26
th minute.

After half, both teams were itching to find the net first to break that tie 1-1. Ithaca was able to score in the 70
th minute putting them in the lead 2-1. The Pioneers battled but to no eval, ending the night in a 2-1 loss.

The Pios will take the field at home again on Wednesday against Houghton, game time set for 5 pm.
