Alfred N.Y.- Alfred State women's soccer team dominates Aloysius with a brace from Madisen Kice. Pios move to 3-5-1 on the season and 1-0 in the conference.
Three and a half minutes into the game the Pioneers start off strong with a goal by Kice. Kice netted the goal by herself with a shot from the top of the box after dribbling the ball up the field. The rest of the half was a defensive battle, and the Pioneers kept the lead 1-0, managing to keep the Mounties scoreless going into halftime.
To kick off the second half Kice netted her second goal of the game, giving her a brace on an assist by
Karlee Hargather. Hargather assisted the goal by way of her own kick that got saved by the Mounties goalie. Kice followed up the saved shot by shooting it again while the goalie was recovering.
With less than 8 minutes remaining in the match,
Allison Lundmark closes off Aloysius with a goal of her own. After a unlucky bounce through the Mounties goalie, Lundmark netted her shot from around 30 yards away.
On a win, Pios head to Bradford, PA to match up against the University of Pitt Brad. They will play October 1, 2024, at 6:30 pm.
