Alfred, NY- The Alfred State men's soccer team takes a close game at home against SUNY Geneseo 2-1. The Pioneers moves to 5-2 on the season, this marks the first time ASC has taken down SUNY Geneseo.
Chuck Domm netted a brace for his third and fourth goals of the season. Alexander Preston notched a win as he tallied four saves on the day.
In the first half, the Pioneers controlled the tempo of the match as Domm scored in the 8th minute. Domm took a shot from around mid-field, about 50 yards away from the goal. The Knights scored a goal of their own after two shots on goal prior. The goal came off a penalty kick. The first half ended with a score of 1-1.
In the second half, Domm helped the Pioneers regain the lead in the 60th minute by netting a header goal off a corner kick assist by Aiden Boyer.
The Pios head to SUNY Cobleskill for a matchup against the Tigers on Saturday, September 21 at 2pm.
