Washington, DC- The Alfred State Men's Soccer team attacked fast against their first season game today vs Valley Forge, earning them a win 9-1.

Nine Pioneers scored in today's game; the first goal was headed by
Jack Leahy off a left side corner kick, assisted by
Ali Mata-Ruiz in the first minute of play. Leahy's goal ignited ASC, as the following 4 goals were all netted within 15 minutes starting at the 24
th minute mark.
Jackson Powers led off with a 20-yard goal, followed by
Nuri Sarbudak four minutes later, assisted by
Liam Hyatt. Not even a minute later,
Travis Scandalis found the net on a hard and low shot at the end of the 28
th minute.
Ryan Masi then nailed a goal from 10 yards, assisted by
Eric Spring putting the Pioneers up 5-0 at half.

Alfred State kept the momentum going as
Farhan Abdi was the first to score after half in the 57
th minute. The Patriots were able to net one goal in the second half, following Abdi's goal, but that was not going to stop the Pios.
TJ Brackett scored on a free kick in the 61
st minute assisted by Abdi.
Brogan Cotter then netted a goal in the 82
nd minute followed by
Will Leahy in the 86
th minute scoring the final goal for the Pioneers.

The Pios will take on Gallaudet tomorrow, game time set for 1pm.
