Pioneers Notched Two Wins On Day Two

Webster, NY- The Alfred State women's swimming and diving team ended day two with 332 points which put them in third place overall.

Alyssa James opened with a record setting 5:15.93 in the 500 free. She set a new school record, an AMCC Championship meet record and an AMCC conference record with that time on her way to a second-place finish. Mallory O'Keefe was also in the A-Final and notched a fifth place with a time of 5:21.90.

Then in the 200 IM, Mikaela Snayczuk set a new school record on her way to a second-place finish. She touched the wall in 2:12.47.

Madison Snayczuk won the 50 free, as she pulled away from the pack to touch the wall in 24.78. Gabriela Leite also made the A-Final and finished in 25.62 for sixth place.

Then the team of the Snayczuk sisters, Leite, and O'Keefe notched a win in the 200 free relay. The team finished in 1:38.97 which also set a new school record, an AMCC Championship meet record and an AMCC conference record.

The Pioneers return to the pool tomorrow at 10 am for day three of the championship.
