Alfred, NY- The Alfred State men's soccer team advances to the AMCC Championship after a 3-0 victory over fifth seeded Pitt-Greensburg. The Pioneers moves to 13-3-2 on the season.
After a scoreless first half, the Pioneers offense caught fire. Jack Leahy netted the first goal of the game in the 68th minute, off a Jackson Powers pass. Eight minutes later, Alexander Romero found the back of the net off of a corner kick to make it a 2-0 game. In the 80th minute, Nuri Sarbudak got fouled in the box which turned into a penalty kick goal for the 3-0 lead.
The Pioneers would hold off the Bobcats the rest of the game to advance to the Championship hosted by Alfred State against Penn State Behrend, Saturday Nov. 9 at 2 pm.
