Fredonia, NY- The Alfred State women's swim and dive team sits in fourth place at the end of day one of the Blue Devil Invite with a total of 335 points.
The team of Hailey Kumpf, Gabriela Leite, Mallory O'Keefe, and Madison Snayczuk open the meet with a third-place finish in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:52.03.
Alyssa James notched a win in the 500 free as she touched the wall in 5:18.60. O'Keefe touched the wall a few seconds later to take fourth with a time of 5:31.73
Then in the 50 free, Snayczuk took fifth place with a time of 25.41. Leite came in eighth in the A-Final after hitting the wall in 25.99.
In the final event of the day, the team of James, Snayczuk, O'Keefe, and Leite notched a third-place finish in the 400-medley relay with a time of 4:04.99.
The Pioneers will be back in the pool for day two of the Blue Devil Invite with prelims starting at 10 am.
