Alfred, NY- The Alfred State Volleyball team took a huge win on their Pink Pride match-up tonight against the Pitt-Bradford Panthers 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-14)! The Pioneers are now 16-6 with three regular season games left.

Alayna Tomlinson lit up the court in today's match-up with 16 kills and four aces.
Racquel Gerstenberger was right behind her with seven kills, 12 digs and 4 aces.
Ava Wickes also tacked on 15 digs on the night.

The Pios came out in set one with aggression! Starting with a solid seven-point rally, started by a Gerstenberger kill and ace, followed by a
Caitlyn Gilman kill which led to two
Gabriella Thurmond kills and two Tomlinson kills, 7-2. ASC took control and finished the set with two
Erin Gregoire kills and a Tomlinson kill and ace, 25-14.

The Panthers picked up their pace in the second set, putting the Pioneers on the spot, making them work harder. Down by four points, the Pios took a six-rally lead from four kills by Tomlinson, a Thurmond kill and Gregoire kill, 9-7. Alfred State took the second set win after two Panther errors and two Tomlinson aces, 25-17.

Keeping their momentum going into the third set, ASC had two, five-point rallys that helped them secure the win. The first rally beginning with a Gerstenberger kill and ace, followed by Pitt-Bradford errors, 6-2. The second rally was ignited by a huge Tomlinson kill, continued by a
Nayomie Ferrer kill. Tomlinson then added two more intense kills which then led to a Panther error, 13-7. The Pios took the third and final set as Gregoire laid down the finishing kill, 25-14.

The Pios will be back on their home court again this Saturday for Senior night against Penn State Altoona, game time set for 11 am.
