ALFRED, N.Y. – The Alfred State men's soccer team dominates Pitt-Greensburg 6-0 in their final game of the regular season. The Pioneers finish at 12-3-2 and 6-0-2 in conference play.
In the 16th minute,
Jackson Powers scored the first goal for the Pioneers, off to a cross from
Nuri Sarbudak. Just one minute later, Sarbudak responded by scoring a goal of his own, assisted by Jean Baptist Kagde. In the 28th minute, a foul by the Bobcats in the box resulted in a penalty kick, which Powers converted for his second goal. Alfred State went into halftime with a 3-0 lead.
In the second half, it was not until the 70th minute that the Pioneers would score again.
Josh Price would laser one from outside the 18-yard box, assisted by
Jack Emo. Then in the 83rd minute,
Eric Spring broke past the goalie, making the score 5-0. In the final seconds of the game,
TJ Brackett secured the victory for the Pioneers with a goal assisted by Matthew Zwirbli.
Alexander Preston earned the win in goal notching one save for ASC.
