Alfred, NY- Alfred State women's volleyball took down the La Roche Redhawks in a sweep (25-20, 25-23, 26-24). After the match, Pioneers moved to 13-6 on the season and 3-1 in the conference

The first set was close with neither team gaining control of the game. After some time with the score at 9-9, Pios rallied together to start taking charge of the game. A
Racquel Gerstenberger kill, set the momentum for the Pioneers.
Nayomie Ferrer,
Erin Gregoire, along with Gerstenberger all tallied kills to end the set 25-20. Ferrer chipped into the set by assisting on 10 kills for Alfred.
During the second set,
Alayna Tomlinson notched three kills of her own for the Pioneers while either team could maintain control.
Caitlyn Gilman and Gregoire provided a block each for Pios. The set was another nail-bitter, ending 25-23.
Set three was a tight match for the Pioneers, ending 26-24.
Ava Wickes tallied two back-to-back aces to bring the score up while Pios was down 15-11. Gerstenberger and Tomlinson helped the Pioneers take the lead 21-20 with multiple kills. Pioneers won the set with a kill by Gerstenberger.
