The Alfred State men's soccer team won today's match 6-0 against Gaulladet. The Pioneers have now started their season with two-straight 6-goal performances.

The Pioneers split their goals evenly in each half. Nuri Sarbudak started the scoring with a set-piece goal from the help of Ali Mata-Ruiz. In the 29th minute, Garrett Potts continued his hot weekend with a fastbreak goal from another Mata-Ruiz assist. Just before the half ended, the Pioneers netted their third goal from Matthew Zwirblis. 

Zwirblis and the Pioneers came out of the second half firing on all cylinders with a goal in the 52nd and 53rd minutes Zwirblis scored again from a Mata-Ruiz pass, and then Mata-Ruiz netted one of his own the next minute. The final goal of the night was an unassisted goal from Farhan Abdi in the 61st minute, all but ending the game.

Alfred State has netted 12 goals in the opening weekend of the season. They are back in action at home, against Thiel on Wednesday September 6.
