York, PA- The Alfred State men's wrestling notched an eighth-place finish at the New Standard Invite, as Sean Malenfant took home the 184 title.
Malenfant started his day with a 9-2 decision win over Rylan Moose (Marymount. Malenfant notched a takedown in each of the first two periods, then a reversal plus a riding time point for the win. Then in the final he would get a 15-8 decision win over 10th ranked Joel Martsinovsky (Stevens). Malenfant notched an escape followed by a takedown in the first period, before getting a takedown a two-point near-fall in the second round. In the third period, Malenfant tallied two escapes, and a takedown to secure the 184-bracket title.
Other notable finishes were Zach Levey finishing third in the 133 bracket, and Dylan Perry finishing fifth in the 197 bracket.
