Pioneers Suffer A Loss To Altoona

Altoona, PA- The Pioneers men's swimming team suffered a tough 110-95 loss to Penn State Altoona. Alfred State was able to tally three individual wins and one team win.

Alex Villlegas won the 200 free event with a time of 1:52.25. Villlegas also had a third-place finish in the 500 free. Ricardo Villarreal came in second in both the 100 fly (54.14) and the 500 free (5:10.89).

In the 200 IM, Jack Friedah pulled away from the pack to finish in 2:04.87 for first place. Friedah would also put in a second-place finish in the 100 back.

Stuart Yates won the 100-breast event with a time of 1:01.56, while Derek Mrachko finished in third with a time of 1:04.24

Gregg Wenhold came away with two second place finishes in the 50 free and the 100 free, while Dillon Madigan finished in third for the 1000 free.

The Pioneers final win came in the 400-medley relay, when the team of Freidah, Yates, Villarreal, and Parker Brod touched the wall first in 3:40.91.
