Pioneers Sit In Third At The End Of Day One

Fredonia, NY- The Alfred State Women's swim and dive team is sitting in third place following day one at the Fredonia midseason invite. The Pioneers scored 449 points on the day.

Mallory O'Keefe got the only individual win of the day with a win in the 500 free. She touched the wall in 5:21.14 to beat out her teammate Alyssa James who came in second with a time of 5:22.28. Lydia Lapierre also made the A-final as she came in fifth.

In the 50 free, Madison Snayczuk finished in second after hitting the wall in 24.75 and Gabrialle Leite touched the wall in 25.66 for fifth. Emma Merrick and Mikaela Snayczuk finished third and fourth respectively in the 200 IM. Merrick finished in 2:15.63, while Mi. Snayczuk finished in 2:17.88.

Alfred State picked up two wins in the 200 free relay and the 400-medley relay. The team of Ma. Snayczuk, Leite, O'Keefe, and Anna Ivery finished in 1:39.02 for first place. Then in the 400 medley relay the team of James, the Snayczuk sisters, and O'Keefe pulled away from the pack to finish in 4:04.01 for first.
