Healy Leads The Pioneers To Their First Victory Of The Season

Rochester, NY- Alfred State Men's swimming picks up their win of the season against Nazareth 139-97. The Pio's tallied eight first place finishes as Head Coach Zach Healy notches his first collegiate win. 

Jack Friedah notched two of those wins in the 200 IM and the 100 back.  In the 200 IM, he touched the wall in 2:22.60 for first, while Derek Mrachko finished in fourth with a time of 2:30.15. Then in the 100 back, Freidah notched his second win as he finished in 1:04.07, JT Mariott finished a few seconds later with a time of 1:11.78.

Ricardo Villarreal also tallied two wins. His first win was in the 200 free, where he touched the wall in 2:05.89. Dominic Mintz was the next Pioneer to touch the wall for third with a time of 2:11.11. Then in the 100 fly, Villarreal pulled away from the pick to finish in 1:00.33 for first place. Pat Roberts had a third-place finish with a time of 1:03.96.

Stuart Yates was the final winner of the swimming events, as he finished first in the 100-breast touching the wall in 1:09.55. Behind him was Mrachko (1:14.46) in third and Riley Hoyt (1:19.83) in fourth.

Gregg Wenhold notched two second place finishes. In the 50 free, Wenhold (25.16) came in second, while Parker Brod (25.63) came in third and John Cadden (26.54) came in fourth. Then in the 100 free, Wenhold finished in 56.90 for second and Fred Grinder came in third with a time of 59.09.

The team of Friedah, Yates, Villarreal, and Brod came in first in the 200 medley with a time of 1:51.71. Then in the 200 free, the team of Wenhold, Vimislik, Villegas, Brod came in second with a time of 1:41.37.

Diving

On the diving board, Conor Compton notched first place finishes on both boards. On the 1-meter, he tallied 282.35 points. Bryan Reichert came in second with a score of 222.80, and Jonah Prindle finished third with a score of 154.95. On the 3-meter board, Compton tallied 300.70 points for first, Jack Tonkin (180.75) finished second, and Prindle (151.30) finished third.
