The Pioneer Volleyball team won their first game of their double header today and lost the second. Against Pratt Institute, they won 3-1 and lost 3-0 against Wells. The tournament was hosted at SUNY Canton.  

In the first set against Pratt Institute, Alfred State won 25-23 and won the second set 25-22. However, Pratt Institute was able to force a fourth set by winning the third 26-24. The Pioneers started the day with their first victory by closing in the fourth set, 27-25.  

In the second match of the day, Alfred State dropped the first set 17-25. They were able to keep it closer in the second set and third set, but Wells still took each 25-23.

They continue their season Wednesday, September 14^th at Houghton. The match between the Pioneers and the cross-county rival Highlanders is set for a 7 p.m. start.
