Alfred State Soccer tied 1-1 today in an away match-up against SUNY Cobleskill.

After surrendering an early goal, the Pioneers scored on an unassisted goal by Gavin Rice (Greece,  N.Y./ Greece Athena High Scool).

Pioneer goalkeeper Thaddeus Grierson (Perry, N.Y. / Perry Central School) had eight saves in the match, with six coming in the second half. He was pivotal in keeping the game locked at one.

Alfred State put a whopping 18 shots on goal, keeping pressure throughout. The team leader was Gavin Rice (Greece, N.Y. / Greece Athena High School), totaling ten shots, six of them were on goal. Riley Warren-Nichols (Fayetteville, N.Y. / Fayetteville-Manlius High School) was right on his tail, totaling three shots on goal.

The Men's Soccer team is back in action Thursday at Pioneer Stadium, against Clarks Summit.
