The Alfred State Women's Soccer team won today's match against Mt. Aloysius 1-0.

Alfred State had consistent offensive pressure in the first half, putting four shots on goal. After a scoreless 40 minutes, Alyson Knaak (Albion / Albion) knocked in her first career goal from 40 yards away, to put the Pioneers up 1-0 going into halftime.

Alfred State kept a steady offensive attack deep into the second half. They tallied seven shots, and six of them were on goal. Four Pioneers finished the match with two shots on goal. Goalkeeper, Giana DiMora (Greece, NY / Greece Olympia) had her first career shutout, with five saves in the match. A complete performance by the Pioneers notched them their first conference win of the 2022 season.

The Pioneers are back in action on October 19, as they travel to Pitt.- Bradford for a 3 p.m. match.
