The Alfred State Men's Soccer team won today's AMCC match 4-2. They defeated Penn St.- Altoona after being down two goals in the early going.

After surrendering two goals in the first 20 minutes, the Pioneer defense stood strong, keeping Altoona at two for the rest of the match. 

Andres Mateos (Batavia, N.Y. / Batavia High School) knocked in the first goal for the Pioneers, in the 22 minute. Nuri Sarbudak (Pittsford, N.Y. / Pittsford Mendon) followed with a goal four minutes later of his own to knot it up at two apiece.

The second half began with a quiet 20 minutes, until Kristian Annibali (Rochester, N.Y. / Gates Chili) knocked in his first goal of the year. The Pioneers put the game to bed in the 86 minute when Jake Mills (Bel Air, M.D. / Loyola Blakefield) found Brogan Cotter (Wayland, N.Y. / Wayland-Cohocton) on a 25 yard cross, as Cotter knocked in the final goal of the game.

Alfred State has a match-up against Elmira this Monday, October 3.
