 The Alfred State wrestling team won two of three matches at the December Duals sponsored by the Kinley Corporation inside Orvis Gymnasium on Saturday.

The Pioneers cruised past Ulster Community College 60-0, beat Keystone College 33-16 and battled Lycoming College but lost 24-17.

Against Ulster, Justin Hoffman (Hadley) pinned his opponent in 3:48 at 157 while Sean Malenfant (Averill Park) also pinned his opponent in 3:48 at 174.

Against Keystone, Troy Hayes (Binghamton/Windsor) pinned his opponent in 6:35 at 125, Dawsen Yates (Bolivar) pinned his in 17 seconds at 133, Benjamin Rivera (Carmel) pinned his in 2:57 at 165, Mike Galton (Warsaw) pinned his in 2:23 at 174 and Blake Ilges (Canisteo) won on a 17-10 decision at 197.

Against Lycoming, Yates won on a 19-7 decision at 133, Malenfant pinned his opponent in 3:39 at 165, Galton won on a 19-3 tech fall at 174 and Cale Bartosch (Palmyra) won on a 5-3 decision at 184.

Alfred State is off until Jan. 8 when they host Penn State Behrend and Pitt Bradford.
