Pioneers Compete at Niagara Regional

The Alfred State men's cross country team wrapped up the 2021 season by competing at the NCAA Division III Niagara Regional hosted at the National Warplane Museum in Geneseo. The Pioneers finished 22nd overall.

Gavin Bathgate (East Rochester) was the top finisher for ASC. He finished the 8k course in 28:25.1 to earn 99th. Ryan Weir (Schertz, TX) was 130th (30:18.9), Andrew Hvisdak (Hamburg) was 141st (30:58.7), Aiden Bonomo (Manalapan, NJ) was 149th (32:45.3), and Jeff Jijy (New Hyde Park) rounded out the Pioneer top five in 154th (36:05.6).

Ryan Cory from Cortland won the individual title in 25:27.7 while the host Geneseo won the team title with a score of 28. There were student-athletes from 26 teams competed in the event. 

The Pioneers will now shift their focus to the indoor track & field season which begins in early December.
