The Alfred State men's cross country team finished 5th at the Houghton Invitational in their final meet before the postseason.

Gavin Bathgate (East Rochester) led the way again for the Pioneers. He ran the 8k course in 26:54.47 to earn 10th place. Ryan Weir (Schertz, TX) was 58th (29:41.41), Aiden Bonomo (Manalapan, NJ) was 60th (29:55.14), Andrew Hvisdak (Orchard Park/Hamburg) finished 73rd (31:22.89), and Brian Clark (Bethpage) was the fifth man in finishing 74th (31:33.60).

The Pioneers scored a 162 as a team. SUNY Cortland took the team title with a mark of 42.

Alfred State will host the AMCC Championship on October 30th as the Pioneers begin postseason competition.
