The Alfred State women's cross country team raced to a 2nd place finish at the Alfred University Invitational on Saturday. The team scored 65 points on the day.

For the second straight week Caitlin Caltagirone (Holland) was the top female finisher. She was 8th overall finishing the 6k course in 27:40.28. Katie Watkins (Addison) was 11th (28:44.67), Molly Heaphy (Long Island Lutheran) was 20th (30:26.35), and Sarah Rivet (Shenendehowa) was 22nd (31:01.58). Kate Frascella (Franklinville) was 25th to round out the Pioneers top five in 31:21.54.

William Smith scored a perfect 15 to win the meet followed by Alfred State, Elmira (78), and Alfred University (91)

The Pioneers head to Penn State Behrend on Friday evening in a preview of the AMCC Championship course.
