The Alfred State volleyball team was tripped up twice as they competed in day one of the Lycoming (Williamsport, PA) Invitational. They fell 3-0 to Pitt Bradford and 3-0 to the hosts.

In their opening match vs. Pitt Bradford (4-3) the Pioneers fell 18-25, 27-29, 11-25. Alyssa Fox (Portville) led the way with eight kills and nine digs while Kiara Perkins (Coudersport, PA) finsihed with eight kills and eight digs. Megan Gridley (Corning Painted Post) added nine digs while Jordan McCooey (Horseheads) passed out 24 assists. 

In their nightcap vs. Lycoming (4-2) the Warriors earned a 16-25, 22-25, 13-25 victory. Isabella Slocum (Hornell/Cal Mum) led the team with six kills, Gridley led the way with 11 digs, and Alyssa Fox (Letchworth) finished with nine digs and four kills.

The Pioneers continue play in the Lycoming Invitational tomorrow when they take on Hartwick (11 a.m.) and Elizabethtown (1 p.m.)
