Pioneers Finish 15th at Mike Woods Invitational

The Alfred State women's cross country team finished 15th at the Mike Woods Invitational hosted by Geneseo at Letchworth State Park. The Pioneers scored 430 point in the event that featured 232 finishers from 19 teams.

Veronica Dailey (Addison) led the way for the blue & gold on the 6k course. She crossed the finish line in 25:06.1. Julia Russell (Candor) was 88th (25:21.7), Kathryn Watkins was 154th (27:30.2), Katherine Frascella (Franklinville) was 189th (29:28.3), and Olivia Leonti (Port Byron) was 193rd (29:40.1).

Geneseo took home the team title with a score of 17. Laurentian University was 2nd (72), RIT was 3rd (89), and SUNY ESF (174). The Pioneers finished ahead of D'Youville, Penn College, Alfred University, and Hilbert.

The Pioneers will be take part in the alumni meet next weekend as the college celebrates Homecoming 2018. The race is slated to begin at 11 a.m.
