Bailey Shattell scored in the 53rd minute as Houghton defeated Alfred State 1-0 on Wednesday evening. The Highlanders improve to 8-5-2 on the year while the Lady Pioneers are now 6-7.

Jenny Zacchigna found Bailey Shattell who was able to put a diving header into the back of the net for the lone goal.

Houghton held a 15 to 1 shot advantage in the game. Sadie Dunnett earned the shutout victory while Allison Danielak (Brockport) made six saves for the Lady Pioneers.

The blue & gold head to Villa Maria on Saturday for a 2 p.m. contest with the Vikings.
