The Alfred State volleyball team swept a pair as they wrapped up play in the Lycoming Tip-off Tournament. They defeated CCNY 25-11, 25-8, 25-10 and Misericordia 25-17, 25-19, 25-18 to improve to 15-1 on the year.

Grace Hall (Ellicottville) led the way with eight kills and four aces vs. CCNY. Lera Braun (Waterloo) had 27 assists, 10 aces, and five digs, Valerie Initi (Eastridge) picked up 12 digs, and Madison Szpaicher (Ellicottville) finished with 11 digs.

Bryanna Godfrey (Tioga) recorded 12 kills and 12 digs vs. Misericordia. Hall added nine kills, Braun passed out 32 assists and was credited with 10 digs, and Madison Webster (Corning) led the team with 15 digs.

Braun was named to the All-Tournament team as the Lady Pioneers finished 2nd overall.

Alfred State has a week off before heading down the road to Houghton for a tri-match with the Highlanders (11 a.m.) and SUNY Geneseo (1 p.m.).
