The Alfred State volleyball team defeated Morrisville (25-14, 25-21, 25-17) and Mt. Aloysius (25-12, 25-15, 19-25, 25-20) on Saturday. The Lady Pioneers are now 6-0 to start the season.

In the opener vs. Morrisville, Bryanna Godfrey (Tioga) had a big game. She finished with 12 digs, 11 kills, and four aces. Lera Braun (Waterloo) added 31 assists and four aces, Valerie Intini (Rochester/Eastridge) had 17 digs, and Janae Hamilton (Ellicottville) chipped in 11 kills.

Godfrey continued her solid play vs. Mt. Aloysius. She finished with 15 digs, nine kills, and six aces. Jess Padley (Sweet Home) had 10 digs and eight kills, Madison Szpaicher (Ellicottville) had 13 digs, and Braun passed out 37 assists. Intini led the team with 18 digs and Hamilton led with 10 kills.

In the two matches, Alfred State recorded 31 service aces.

The blue & gold are back in action on Wednesday when they host Hilbert at the Orvis Activities Center at 7 p.m.
