The Alfred State women's soccer team scored a goal in each half to earn a 2-0 victory over Medaille College to earn their 1st victory of the 2014 season.

Kaitlin Huyler (Jasper Troupsburg) scored 18:12 into the contest to give the Lady Pioneers the lead when she netted her 1st career goal.

The game remained 1-0 until Kali Muhleisen (Alfred Almond) added an insurance goal with 4:15 remaining in the contest to put the game out of reach.

Morgan Schreiner (Spencerport) made three saves in the 1st half to earn the victory while Allison Danielak (Brockport) made three saves of her own in the 2nd.

Alfred State held a 21 to 10 shot advantage in the game including a 12 to 6 shots on goal advantage.

The Lady Pioneers (1-2) have a few days off before opening the home portion of their season on Sunday when they host SUNY Canton.
