The Alfred State volleyball team swept a pair of matches during day one of the St. Joseph's (LI) Tournament. The Lady Spikers defeated New Jersey City 25-14, 25-9, 26-24 and Keystone 26-24, 25-20, 25-19.

Kay Pfleghardt (Tioga) had 10 kills and three aces in the victory over New Jersey City. Lera Braun (Waterloo) recorded 29 assists and four aces, Jess Ramsey (Tioga) had 19 digs, and Jess Padley (Sweet Home) added seven kills.

Versus Keystone, Bryanna Godfrey (Tioga) recorded 12 kills to lead the way. Madison Szpaicher (Ellicottville) added 18 digs and seven kills, Ramsey had 26 digs, and Braun had 26 assists, six kills, and three aces. Pfleghardt chipped in 19 digs.

The Lady Pioneers (21-3) battle Wilkes at 10 a.m. and Ramapo at Noon to complete the two day tourney.
