The Alfred State volleyball team fell 25-19, 25-27, 25-21, 25-15 to Elmira on Tuesday evening. The Soaring Eagles are now 10-4 on the year while the Lady Pioneers are 9-5.

Lera Braun (Waterloo) led the way for the blue & gold with 22 assists, 10 digs, and six kills. Rebecca Hanrahan (Greene) and Jessica Padley (Sweet Home) each had eight kills, Jessica Ramsey (Tioga) had 15 digs, and Mallory Eberhardt (Lyons) finished with 11 digs.

Taryn Rumsey led Elmira with 19 kills and 19 digs while Kierstin Derr chipped in 13 kills and 15 digs.

This was the second meeting between the two schools.  Alfred State defeated Elmira 3-2 in the SUNY Oswego Tournament last weekend.

Alfred State travels to the SUNY IT Tournament on Friday to compete vs. SUNY Canton, D'Youville, SUNY IT and Utica.
