Mike Malenfant joins the staff for the 2024-25 season as a Volunteer Assistant Coach after retiring from his career as an educator and coach in the Averill Park Central School District.
Malenfant worked for 30 years serving as a math teacher and Head Varsity Wrestling Coach at Averill Park HS up until his retirement in December of 2023.
Prior to his teaching and coaching careers, Malenfant wrestled collegiate for St. Lawrence University and earned his bachelor degree in Education.  He then went on to earn his masters degree from The Sage Colleges and a Certificate in Administration from MCLA.
While in High School, Malenfant wrestled for Averill Park HS and was a NYS Championship Runner-up competing in the 155 lb NYS Finals.Â
Malenfant and his wife Janet reside in Averill Park and are the parents of Sarah, Jess, Mikayla, and team member Sean Malenfant.
