Alfred, NY- This week's Pioneer Athletes of the Week are Sean Malenfant (Men's Wrestling) and Conor Compton (Men's Diving).
 

Sean Malenfant (Averill Park, NY, Averill Park) went 4-0 on the weekend on his way to his second Regional Championship title. In the 184 bracket,  Malenfant went 2-0 on day one, with two first period falls to make it to day two. Malenfant then opened day two with a 6-4 decision to earn a spot in the first-place match. In the first-place match Malenfant notched a 4-2 decision win over Jack Ryan (ONE) for the 184 Regional title. This is the second time in his career he won the Regional Title and qualified for the NCAA National tournament.
 

Conor Compton (Rexford, NY, Niskayuna)  had a very successful weekend at the NCAA Regional Diving meet. He opened the weekend with a second place finish on the 3-meter board with a score of 559.80. Then he won the 1-meter Regional Title after scoring 552.45. With his scores he qualified for his fourth NCAA National Championship appearance.
