Pioneers Fall To Saxons In Alfred Cup

Alfred, NY - The Alfred State women's soccer team incurred a loss against the Saxons of Alfred University in their Alfred Cup matchup 3-0. After the loss, Pios fall to 1-3 on the season.

Madeline Cox made three saves on the day.

Both teams spent most of the first half looking to get settled in on offense as neither side found the net until the 42nd minute. The Saxons were the ones to break the ice and strike first.

In the second half the Saxons found their way to two more goals as the Pioneers remained scores. Pios continued to look for a spark on offense but were unable to find a goal as they fell 3-0.  

Alfred will head to Canton, PA next to face off against the Roos. Kickoff is set for Saturday, September 13th at 12pm.
