Hiram, OH- The Alfred State women's wrestling team to second place at the AMCC Championship. Two Pioneers won their respective weight class.
In the 124 class,
Dianna Pineda took first place. She opened the day with a 31 second fall over Natalie Padilla (Buffalo State). Then in the championship match, she notched a 1:36 fall over
Evelissa Zayas (Alfred State). Zayas would take second in the weight class.
Emily Brown took first in the 145-weight class.
Other notable finishes were:
Brooke Walsh finished second in the 138 class,
Allison Strausbaugh took second in the 160 class,
Hannah Grawn took second in the 207 class, and
Anna Sheahan took third in the 131 weight class.
The Pioneers will take the mat again on the morning of February 23 for the NCAA Regional hosted by Elmira.
