Lancaster, PA- The Alfred State Archery Team traveled for the annual Easton Collegiate Trophy Tournament and Lancaster Classic. The archery event hosted 3000 archers, and Brandon Stanton(Union Springs, NY) finished with a top 5 performance in the Men's open with a 637. Matthew Stungis(Neversink, NY) finished in 21st and competed in Men's compound/open with a 572. Brianna Fagan(Spencerport, NY) improved by 80 points compared to her last showing, finishing 14th in Women's collegiate bowhunter with a 549. Assistant Coach Travis Smith had this to say about Brianna Fagan's improvement this weekend, "It's rewarding when the hard work put in by the archers at practices pays off under tournament pressure." Adam Winter(Clifton Park, NY) was sick and could not travel for the tournament.
The Pioneers will compete at the USA Archery Indoor Nationals in Fiskdale, MA, from February 21st to 23rd.
