Altoona, PA – The Alfred State College women's wrestling team went 2-3 on the day at the AMCC Duals.
The Pioneers secured a 26-18 victory over Buffalo State to open the day. The Pioneers fell behind early after a forfeit in the 110-weight class and a tech fall in the 117. Kierra Willis secured Alfred State's first points off a forfeit in the 124 bout. Buffalo State won the 131-weight class, but forfeits for Ethe Hemphill, Emily Brown, Jyla Johnson, and Madeline Cox in their respective weight classes secured the 26-18 win.
In the match against Elmira, Dianna Pineda and Cox secured victories.
In the bout against Hiram, Pineda, Nathalia Santana Hidalgo, Hemphill, and Johnson notched wins.
Against John Carroll, Pineda and Barber recorded wins.
Alfred State flipped the script to get their second victory of the day against PSU Altoona, 30-15. A forfeit in the 117 bout saw AI Kirsch get the Pioneers on the scoreboard. Pineda secured her fourth individual victory of the day on a fall at the 0:58 mark. Brooke Walsh, Hemphill, Cox, and Niamh Barber recorded forfeits in their respective weight classes to secure the victory.
