Alfred, NY- The Alfred State football team notched a home victory in their conference matchup against the Hartwick Hawks 54-28. The Pioneers move to 4-3 overall and 2-2 in conference play.

Justin Horvath led the Pioneers as he went 21-26 on the day for 249 yards and two touchdowns. Noah Currier led rushing attack with 146 yards on 15 attempts, delivering four touchdowns. The Pioneers then capitalized on a failed Hartwick drive with Horvath and Josh Graham slowly marching up the field. Graham capped off the Pioneer second drive with a one yard rush up the middle, bringing a 13-0 game.

Kicking off the second quarter, Hartwick cut the deficit to 13-7. However, Alfred extended their lead once more on the very next drive. Currier rushed up the middle on Hartwick's one yard-line to find the end zone. After an onside kick from the Hawks, the Pioneers furthered their advantage with a Currier rush between the tackles for a 14-yard gain, 27-7.
