Pioneers Are In Second Place Following Day One

Fredonia, NY- The Alfred State men's swim and dive team finished day one of the Fredonia midseason invite in second with a score of 500 points.

Ricardo Villareal notched the highest place finish for the Pioneers with a second-place finish in the 500 free. He touched the wall in 4:54.62.

In the 50 free, the Pioneers had three in the A-finals. Stuart Yates (22.10) came in fourth, Parker Brod (22.13) came in fifth, and Fred Ginder (22.77) finished in eighth. Then in the 200 IM, Jack Friedah notched a fifth-place finish with a time of 2:01.17, while Derek Mrachko finished in 2:09.51 for eighth.

ASC also tallied two second place finishes in the 200 free relay and the 400 medley. In the 200 free, the team of Brod, Gregg Wenhold, Ginder, and Yates touched the wall in 1:28.45, while the team of Friedah, Yates, Villarreal, and Brod finished with a time of 3:33.75.
