Tony Aquilina returns to the Alfred State Wrestling staff as a Volunteer Assistant Coach for his fourth season serving primarily in an academic capacity. Aquilina works full time at Alfred State College serving as an Assistant Professor of Sport Management and also serves as an Adjunct Instructor of Sport Management at Alfred University. Additionally, Tony also has his own online fitness personal training business and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. through the University of the Cumberlands. 

Prior to his arrival at Alfred State in the fall of 2022, Aquilina worked a majority of the past decade at Alfred University. Most recently from 2017-2022 Aquilina served as their Associate Director of Athletics/Compliance Director. He also served as their Assistant Athletic Director from 2012-2016. He spent the 2016-2017 academic year at Misericordia University serving as their Assistant Director of Athletics/Compliance Officer.
 
Aquilina has experience working within athletics in many areas including supervision of athletic teams, supervision of conference and national level events, assisting with marketing and sponsorships, overseeing strength and conditioning staff, management of Fitness Centers, management of equipment rooms, running intramural programs, assisting with fundraising efforts aimed at young alumni, managing individual team budgets, overseeing all Athletics Department facility rentals as well as hiring, training, supervising and monitoring payroll for more than 150 student workers staffing on-campus athletic events.
 
In 2012 Aquilina earned his Master’s degree in Sports Management and Media at Ithaca College. Aquilina earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management and Communications from SUNY Cortland in 2011. While at Cortland, Aquilina was a four year starter on their Intercollegiate Rugby Club. He served 2 seasons as Club Captain and in 2010 as the teams Scrumhalf led them to an undefeated regular season and the 2010 NYS Division II Championship title in 15-man. 

Aquilina resides in Alfred Station with his wife Shelby, who works at Alfred State in the Student Success Center, and their son's Beau and Jace.
